Disability Confidence means empowering everyone with the knowledge required to be responsive to the broader abilities, competencies, and needs of people who have a disability in our workplace. Understanding how to discuss topics involving disabilities, and how to address people who have a disability, is an important part of promoting awareness, equality, and creating a sustainable disability-inclusive workforce.

ODEN's goal for this learning module is to increase Leaders awareness and confidence to work with team members who have a disability. By the end of this module, you will gain knowledge on:

  • What does disability look like in Canada – the facts
  • Dispelling myths that create biases and barriers
  • Case studies of businesses benefitting from creating an inclusive workforce
  •  Considerations for successful implementation – avoiding management pitfalls

This training is appropriate for managers and supervisors who wish to increase their awareness and confidence to support team members who have a disability and prepare their teams to onboard new employees who have a disability with confidence.
